Free estate planning for qualified police and firefighters
Posted Monday, April 9, 2012 by John S. Palmer
The WSBA First Responder Will Clinic provides basic estate-planning documents — wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives — for free to Washington police officers and firefighters (and their spouses/state registered domestic partners).
The next clinic will take place on April 14, 2012 at the Redmond Police Department Headquarters, 8701 160th Avenue NE Redmond, WA 98052.
The deadline for signing up for the Redmond clinic has passed, but other clinics are coming up in Seattle (September 8), Spokane (September 29) and Puyallup (October 13). Clinics are also planned for Thurston County in May or June and in the Tri-Cities in July, with the exact dates TBA.
Information about the program, including how to pre-register for future clinics, and a questionnaire for clinic clients, is available at the program’s website.
Only Washington residents are eligible to participate, and must have assets of $750,000 or less ($1.5 million, if married).
