New Guardianship Web Portal
Posted Tuesday, August 30, 2016 by John S. Palmer
It should be easier to find basic information about guardianships in Washington thanks to a new website launched by the state’s Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC).
The new Guardianship Portal provides a central location to find information that was previously spread across multiple webpages for the Certified Professional Guardianship Board, the Office of Public Guardianship, and AOC’s Lay Guardian Training website.
From the portal users can find answers to several basic questions about guardianship (such as who may serve as a guardian, who needs one, how one is appointed, and what a guardian can and cannot do). There are also links to locate a professional guardian or guardianship agency, and access the mandatory online training for lay guardians.
